Effect of integrated nutrient management and spacing on seed quality parameters of black gram cv. Lbg-625 (rashmi)

Abstract: A field experiment was conducted to assess the response of nutrient levels and spacing on seed quality attributes of black gram cv. LBG-625 (Rashmi). Experimental results revealed that fertilizer application of 50:100:100 + Black gram rhizobia (250 g ha-1) + PSB- Bacillus megaterium (250 g ha-1) recorded highest test weight (39.27 g), germination (90.60%), root length (15.77 cm), shoot length (13.43 cm), mean seedling length (29.20 cm), mean seedling dry weight (57.99 mg), seedling vigour index-I (2656), seedl… Show more

“…4 & 5 which is representing data of physical and chemical properties of soil sample after harvesting of black gram respectively having maximum Bulk density (Mg m -3 ) of soil was recorded 1.26 Mg m -3 in treatment T 0 (control) and minimum Bulk density (Mg m -3 ) of soil was recorded 1.10 Mg m -3 in treatment T 8 (N 20 P 40 K 40 + and 100 % Biochar). Similar results were also reported by (Amruta et al, 2016). Particle density (Mg m -3 ) of soil was recorded 2.64 Mg m -3 in treatment T 8 (N 20 P 40 K 40 + and 100 % Biochar) and minimum Particle density (Mg m -3 ) of soil was recorded 2.35 Mg m -3 in treatment T 0 (control).…”

“…Further, data revealed that application of soil test based NPK+10t FYM ha -1 +Rhizobium+30kg S ha -1 + 1kg Mo ha -1 recorded maximum grain yield (948 kg ha -1 and 971 kg ha -1 ) and stover yield (2433.3 and 2525 kg ha -1 ) over rest of the treatments ( Combined use of inorganic, organic and biofertilizers resulted in better growth associated with increased availability of nutrients might have resulted in better development of growth and yield attributing parameters, which ultimately resulted in higher yields. These results are corroborated by the findings of Khosro and Yousef (2012,) Amruta et al (2015) and Zahida et al (2016).…”

“…These micronutrients are directly involved in the synthesis of protein, chloroplast pigments and electron transfer which lead to increased photosynthetic activity of pigeon pea plant and it naturally accounts for higher number of primary and secondary branches per plant. A similar result of finding was in concomitance with previous investigators [7,33].…”
