“…The dispersion of HA in the alginate solution under the influence of ultrasound followed by crosslinking with Ag + ions makes significant changes in the microstructure of the HA-Alg-Ag composite. Electron microscopic studies show a pronounced contour of the particles, characteristic of similar biocomposites with a matrix of sodium alginate (Pogrebnjak et al 2019b, Turlybekuly et al 2019, Sukhodub et al 2020. The Ca/P weight ratio for these samples is around 1.71 ± 0.10 (0.125 Ag) to 1.73 ± 0.11 (0.25 Ag).…”

“…The decreased Ca/P ratio, as compared with the Ca/P ratio for Figure 3 shows scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM) images of composites together with their diffraction patterns. The particles have a nanoscale needle-shaped form, which is typical of natural HA (see figures 3(a) and (b)) (Elliott 1994, Dorozhkin 2012, Grigolo et al 2016, Pogrebnjak et al 2019a, Sukhodub et al 2020, Turlybekuly et al 2019. When HA is incorporated into the polymer matrix of sodium alginate (the second synthesis method), amorphization of HA nanocrystals is observed, which is confirmed by 'blurring' of the diffraction patterns of crystals as well as by 'rounding' of CaP nanocrystals (figures 3(c) and (d)).…”

“…In a more recent paper, we reported the fabrication of hydrophobic membranes [ 24 ] using a linear diblock copolymer made of methacrylic acid-methyl methacrylate and iron oxide NPs coated with different stabilizers (methacrylic acid and dimercaptosuccinic acid). The use of stabilizers effectively reduced the aggregation of iron oxide NPs as reported in the literature [ 27 , 28 ]. About 16.2% of water permeate flux increase was observed under the magnetic field.…”

“…Calcium phosphates was mainly used in dentistry and orthopedics as dental fillers, coatings for titanium dental implants, as bone substitutes, and for bone reconstruction and regeneration, due to their excellent biocompatibility, osteoconductive properties, and similarity to the inorganic constituents of human bone [12][13][14][15][16]. This work is devoted to the synthesis and comprehensive study of a biocomposite material based on calcium phosphate doped with ZnCl and AgNO 3 .…”
