Abstract:Low-grade flow energy possesses large reserve and wide distribution in environment, but is far from fully exploited due to high cost when using traditional rotary convertors. Flapping foil can effectively extract flow energy with large span-chord ratio at low Reynolds number, and thus may find its application in low-grade flow energy conversion. The motion profiles are the key factors that determine its energy extraction performance. Although massive works have been devoted to optimize its motion parameters, t… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
