Effect of Nb Concentration on Thermal Stability and Glass-Forming Ability of Soft Magnetic (Fe,Co)-Gd-Nb-B Glassy Alloys

Abstract: Addition of a small amount of Nb to the (Fe,Co)-Gd-B glassy alloy in (Fe 0.9 Co 0.1 ) 71.5Àx Nb x Gd 3.5 B 25 increased the stabilization of supercooled liquid. The largest supercooled liquid region of 104 K was obtained for the x = 2 alloy. A distinct two-stage-like glass transition was observed with further incresing Nb content.
