Abstract:The present study aims to evaluate the effect of up to 3 wt.% Nd on pure Zn in terms of physical properties and in vitro analysis. The use of Nd as an alloying element is due to its relatively adequate biocompatibility and its potential capability to reinforce metals with a hexagonal close-packed (HCP) crystal structure, such as Mg and Zn.
