Abstract:Multiaxial creep deformation behaviour of U-notched 304HCu austenitic stainless steel (304HCu SS) has been studied by altering the angle of the U-notch, by 300, 600, 900, and 1200, for a fixed root radius of 1.25 mm. The associated stress concentration factor for the U-notch geometry is about 1.8-1.86 with decrease in notch angle. Creep rupture lives of all notched specimens are above the un-notched specimen.
