Effect of open and closed endotracheal suctioning on cross-transmission with Gram-negative bacteria: A prospective crossover study*

Abstract: Closed suction systems failed to reduce cross-transmission and acquisition rates of the most relevant Gram-negative bacteria in intensive care unit patients.
