RNAase activity did not correlate well with the clinical stage of the disease This is not surprising, since the tissue levels are not a good index of the degree of malignancy of the tumour (Goldberg and Pitts, 1966), and tumour RNAase activity increases significantly after radiotherapy (Goldberg, Ayre and Pitts, 1967).
