“…Indeed, the presence of the silane modifier DC88, which was added to reduce the surface energy also improved the reference coating's wetting properties reaching a SCA very similar to that of the coating containing 5 wt % of nano-silica (105 • and 104 • , respectively). The presence of silane groups impacts the hydrophobic behaviour by shielding the polar groups of PUR from interaction with water [31,32].
