Abstract:Packaging starting materials produced by incorporating vanillin into poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) to obtain biopolymer films to replace single‐use plastics of limited degradation are presented in this work. Very homogeneous films are obtained by the casting technique. Different concentrations of vanillin as an additive to produce the films and the manner in which they affect spectroscopic, thermal, and mechanical properties as well as their hydrophilicity/hydrophobicity balance and permeability behavior are analy… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
