Effect of Various External Shading Devices on Windows for Minimum Heat Gain and Adequate Day lighting into Buildings of Hot and Dry Climatic Zone in India

Abstract: Abstract. Glass is the major component of the building envelope to provide visual comfort to inside the buildings. In général clear and bronze glass was used as a main building envelope for both residential and commercial buildings to provide better day lighting into the buildings. If we use more glass area as a building envelope more radiation allows into the buildings. So that it is necessary to reduce more solar radiation and provide sufficient daylight factor inside the building's through glass windows wit… Show more

“…Numerical methodology simulation was developed to dedayine day lighting in to an office building by keeping double glazed window with highly reflective blinds and varying blind tilt angle to provide necessary day lighting in buildings [15]. Examined different types of external shading devices on bronze glass window to find optimum heat gain and day lighting in reading room buildings for hot and dry climatic zone in India [16]. Implementation of analytical and useful methods using thermal analysis simulation software for residential buildings which is situated in New Assiut City, Egypt which is having horizontal shading device on windows.…”

“…Utilizing window treatments or specifying the architecture to include external shading devices, e.g., awnings, louvers, slats, or roof overhangs, can help reduce the glare from sunlight (Winchip, 2017). In a study conducted in India, Kirankumar et al (2018) created a model of a building to test the solar radiation gain and daylighting of the room.…”
