Effectivity of conventional in vitro fertilization (IVF) and intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) when male factor is absent: a perspective point of view

Abstract: An objective and individualized approach of in vitro fertilization techniques tends to decrease costs and improve the experience of infertile couples during treatment. The use of available technologies to diagnose and treat infertility based on scientific evidence seems to be the best practice, which is the guideline that motivates this review on the available techniques for laboratory oocyte insemination. Conventional IVF, the pioneering technique, was initially used in the treatment of tubal obstruction infe… Show more

“…The safety and efficacy of ICSI are yet proven in plenty of studies to overcome different types of male factor infertility. Recently, ICSI has become more common in the treatment of various etiologies of infertility, including older maternal changes, preimplantation genetic testing (PGT), low oocyte yield, fertilization after in vitro maturation (IVM) [3,12,18].…”

“…Therefore, the second method for male factor infertility is better than the other two methods. (S(0), I(0), G1(0), G2(0), G3(0), K1(0), F1(0), R) = (102, 15,23,67,12,38,32,32), (S(0), I(0), G1(0), G2(0), G3(0), K1(0), F1(0), R) = (317, 153, 95, 179, 43, 99, 80, 52), and (S(0), I(0), G1(0), G2(0), G3(0), K1(0), F1(0), R) = (83, 33,16,55,12,21,18,17), respectively.…”

“…ARTs involve ovarian stimulation, egg retrieval, in vitro fertilization, embryo culture, and embryo implantation (Chambers et al, 2017). Many new technologies have been introduced in ART in recent decades, including intracytoplasmic sperm injection, preimplantation genetic testing, and time‐lapse monitoring (Giacobbe et al, 2022). However, the assisted reproduction birth rate is no more than 30% worldwide (Gao et al, 2023).…”
