Abstract: Abstract. Chagas' disease, also called American trypanosomiasis, is a human tropical disease, which is endemic in large areas of South and Central America. Rhodnius prolixus is the most important insect vector of Trypanosoma cruzi, the etiologic agent of Chagas' disease.
