Abstract:The effects of electrochemical etching (ECE) duration on alpha particle detection efficiency in polycarbonate nuclear track detectors over broad ranges of fluence and energy were studied in this paper. This is of particular importance when efficient detection of charged particle tracks with densities > 106 tracks/cm2 in particular in plasma focus devices is of concern. However, at high track densities, tracks overlap and make track density and diameter determination especially at low alpha partic… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
