Abstract:[3H]PK 11195 binding to the peripheral benzodiazepine binding site was investigated in the brain and liver of mice treated with ethanol (4 g/kg, p.o.) daily for 5 days. In the brain stem, Bmax was decreased by 78% in the ethanol-treated group with unaltered Kd (2 nM). The ethanol-withdrawn group did not differ from the control group in both parameters. In the cerebellum, Bmax was decreased by 74% but the binding affinity increased 5-fold as the Kd decrease… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
