Abstract:Zeolite catalysts are characterized by complex surface, interface, and defect structures, which are tightly related to diffusion and subsequent reaction in these catalysts. Herein, we develop a threedimensional anisotropic model to describe anisotropic diffusion, surface/ interface barriers, and reactions in zeolites with rich defects. Benzene alkylation with ethylene catalyzed by ZSM-5 zeolite is taken as the model reaction system. The results show that diffusion anisotropy largely affects the apparent reacti… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
