The a-adrenoceptor antagonist, phenoxybenzamine (5 mg kg-l s.c.), was injected 24 h before the experiment and the 3-adrenoceptor antagonist, (±)-propranolol (0.3 mgkg-1 s.c.), 15 min before the injection of capsaicin (Vapaatalo & Saynavalammi, 1980).
