Abstract: Cyclocarya paliurus (Batal.) lljinskaja, the sole and multi-functional tree species of the family Juglandaceae, grows extensively in subtropical areas of China. Species-specific triterpenoids in its leaves have validated health-promoting effects, including hypoglycemic and hypolipidemic activities.
