Efficacy and safety of basic fibroblast growth factor in the treatment of burns

Abstract: Background: To systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety of basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) in the treatment of burns and to provide evidence-based medical information for clinicians to choose the appropriate treatment measures for burns. Methods: Seven databases, including PubMed, the Cochrane Library, Embase, the Chinese Biomedical Literature Database, the Wanfang Database, the China National Knowledge Infrastructure Internet, and the Chongqing Chongqing W… Show more

“…Ahn 16 believed that rbFGF can effectively shorten the treatment time of patients with deep second‐degree burns and has good safety. The research of Zhan 17 pointed out that rbFGF can effectively treat burn patients with good safety, which provides a scientific basis for the treatment of clinical burns. The results of our study showed that after treatment, the disappearance time of erythema, pain, swelling, blisters, and exudate symptoms, wound healing time, crusting time, and hospitalisation time in the research group were better than those in the control group, suggesting that vitamin C combined with rbFGF can effectively shorten the time to disappearance of clinical symptoms in patients with high‐voltage electrical burns, shortens the time of scabbing and hospitalisation.…”
