Abstract:Calcium phosphate materials have been advocated as useful implantable scaffolds for bone tissue engineering. We have reported that synthetic octacalcium phosphate (OCP) is capable of enhancing differentiation of hard tissue-forming cells including osteoblastic cells, osteoclast precursor cells, and odontoblastic cells.
