“…In addition to removing fiber posts effectively from the root canal, the time required for disassembly is important. In a study comparing diamond burs, ultrasonic tools, and ultrasonic tools/carbide burs, the fiber post removal speed was found to be fastest for ultrasonic tools and carbide burs used together (Abe, da Silveira Bueno, De Martin, Davini, & Cunha, ). Aydemir et al () removed quartz fiber posts from root canals with the removal kit recommended by the manufacturer and with a stainless‐steel ultrasonic tip; they reported that use of the removal kit was significantly faster.…”

“…The sample size for this study was determined based on previous studies[ 1 3 , 14 ] using a power analysis program (G*Power Version 3.1.9.6, universitat kiel, Germany), which was determined to be 80 with a 0.5% confidence interval. A total of 80 extracted single-rooted human mandibular first premolar teeth of similar root diameter and length were selected.…”

“…[ 1 9 ] Although studies have evaluated the influence of post or cement types on bond strength or fracture resistance after post placement,[ 3 10 11 12 13 ] only few studies have evaluated the influence of fiber post and cement type on ease of removal (time) or fracture resistance after post removal. [ 1 8 , 9 14 ] Due to the ease of manipulation, self-adhesive resin cements are advocated for fiber post cementation as compared with regular self-etch adhesive technique, which is a sensitive as well as time-consuming procedure.
