“…In G1 and G2 groups, the mean serum progesterone level were 1.81±17 ng/ml and 1.60±0.13 ng/ml at 5 th day after GnRH injection and decreased non-significantly (p>0.01) to 1.65±0.17 ng/ml and 1.48±0.10 ng/ml at 11 th days after PGF 2 α injection given at 9 th day, respectively. Similar decrease in mean serum progesterone level was reported as from 5.64±2.08 ng/ml to 1.90±0.26 ng/ml by Gupta et al (2019) in Salem black goats and 15.6 ng/ml to 1.9 ng/ml reported by Holtz et al (2008) in Boer goats by using 250 mcg Cloprostenol and 3.75 mg Luprostiol, respectively in their GPG protocols.…”

“…In the current study, low estrus response was noticed in control groups (PGF 2 α alone). Similar to our findings, a low estrus response of 4.3-15.8% in Red Sokoto goats (Tauheed et al, 2010), 30% in Persian downy does (Hashemi and Safdarian, 2018) and 0% in Salem black goats (Gupta et al, 2019) was observed in goats synchronized with double PGF 2 α protocol. Relatively, a high estrus response of 50% was observed in GnRH group.…”

“…Relatively, a high estrus response of 50% was observed in GnRH group. Similar estrus response was observed in our previous study on Salem black goats where GnRH based Ovisynch Protocol was used (Gupta et al, 2019). This effect may be attributed to GnRH injection which would have directly trigerred hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis.…”

“…Nevertheless, these protocols result in sufficient synchrony of the estrous cycle, and they do not eliminate the need for estrus detection. With the widespread of the artificial insemination process and the increased intensive livestock production system, the need for more practicable estrous synchronization protocols has become crucial [ 2 ]. The inclusion of gonadotropins, specifically GnRH, in estrous synchronization procedures, allows for more regulation of ovarian function by modulating follicular waves and the corpus luteum life span [ 3 , 4 ].…”
