Abstract:This paper describes a new approach to the solution of two-dimensional boundary value problems which eliminates the disadvantages and combines the advantages of both conformal transformations and numerical methods. The conformal transformations are used to remove potential gradient singularities, and numerical (e.g. finite difference) methods may then be applied to the resulting almost-regular field problems. Boundary value problems previously regarded as very difficult become tractable, and considerable savin… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
