Abstract:Nonlinear four-wave-mixing (FWM) interactions enable a wide variety of photonic functionalities, including wavelength conversion, all-optical switching, signal regeneration, and generation of entangled photons. To achieve efficient FWM interactions the waves either have to be phase-matched, or a quasi-phase-matching (QPM) scheme has to be realized. However, these techniques conventionally require light-guiding media with specific characteristics. We propose a more general QPM scheme for enabling efficient FWM … Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
