Abstract:Perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) are persistent compounds characterized by stable C−F bonds giving them high thermal and chemical stability. Numerous studies have highlighted the presence of PFASs in the environment, surface waters and animals and humans.
