Abstract

： ObjectiveThe traditional 8-bit images cannot accurately store and represent the real natural scene because the brightness variations in reality are very wide， ranging from faint starlight to direct sunlight with more than nine orders of magnitude. High dynamic range (HDR) imaging technology adopts floating-point numbers to address this deficiency. This technology can accurately represent the fidelity of a real scene with abundant brightness and chroma information. However， HDR images cannot be rendered directly on conventional display devices.
