Einstein-Yang-Mills scattering amplitudes from scattering equations

Abstract: We present the building blocks that can be combined to produce tree-level Smatrix elements of a variety of theories with various spins mixed in arbitrary dimensions. The new formulas for the scattering of n massless particles are given by integrals over the positions of n points on a sphere restricted to satisfy the scattering equations. As applications, we obtain all single-trace amplitudes in Einstein-Yang-Mills (EYM) theory, and generalizations to include scalars. Also in EYM but extended by a B-field and a… Show more

“…As the main subject of this work, we propose a systematic method for the direct evaluation of the DDM form BCJ numerators for both YM and NLSM, derived from the CHY formalism [3][4][5][6][7]. Before that, we need to introduce the CHY representation for YM, gravity and EYM in the next section.…”

“…In this section, we discuss the CHY integrands for n-point tree level YM and gravity amplitudes, as well as the single trace EYM amplitudes [3][4][5][6][7]. We would like to demonstrate that we can express them in terms of each other, and these relations lead to a very natural way to write down the BCJ numerator for YM in the DDM form.…”

“…Recently, CHY discovered new formulae for a large collection of theories. These include the original Einstein (E), Yang-Mills (YM) and biadjoint scalar (BS), together with new formulae for Einstein Maxwell (EM), Einstein Yang-Mills (EYM), (Dirac)-Born-Infeld ((D)BI), Galileons (G), Yang-Mills Scalar (YMS) and nonlinear sigma model (NLSM) [21,22], see figure 1 below for their diagram 1 of new amplitude formulae and relationships between them. They raised the challenge to find the underlying ambitwistor string theories that give rise to these formulae.…”
