Elastic transverse electron scattering form factors of 11Li exotic nucleus

Abstract: The elastic transverse electron scattering form factors have been studied for the 11Li   nucleus using the Two- Frequency Shell Model (TFSM) approach. The single-particle wave functions of harmonic-oscillator (HO) potential are used with two different oscillator parameters bcore and bhalo. According to this model, the core nucleons of 9Li nucleus are assumed to move in the model space of spsdpf. The outer halo (2-neutron) in 11Li is assumed to move in the pure 1p1/2, 1d5/2, 2s1/2 orbit. The shell model calcula… Show more

“…For helium and phosphorate isotopes, the computed MDDs are depicted in Figures 3 (a) and (b). It is clear from Figure 3 (a) that the long tail behavior for 6 He and 8 He is greatly distinguished from that of 4 He due to the low binding energies for the last neutron leading to such a long tail and indicating the halo formation for both isotope 6 He and 8 He. In Figure 3 (b), the low binding energy for the last proton resulted in a long tail in the MDD for 27 P, confirming the halo characteristic in such isotope.…”

“…The calculated MDDs (matter density distributions) for 6 He, 8 He and 27 P are drawn in Figure 2 (a), (b) and (c) correspondingly. The solid curves show the theoretical calculations using the radial wave functions of HO and Hulthen potentials and this is represented by HO+Hulthen.…”

“…The elastic transverse form factors with the brms = 1.833 fm were calculated for USDA, USDB, and W-sd-shell interactions. Figure (2) shows the sd-shell model space (MS) form factors for USDA interaction with g-free (black solid curve). The contributions of M1 (dashed curve) and M3 (dashed-dot curve) components are also indicated.…”

“…The key benefits of using electrons as probes are attributed to the electromagnetic interaction properties, which are accurately represented by quantum electrodynamics-QED [1]. Elastic magnetic electron scattering is widely used to study the valence structure of the nuclei near the stability line [2].…”
