Electrically-driven single hexapole mode photonic crystal laser using parity-selective mirrors

Abstract: We report low threshold current single-cell photonic-crystal lasers with InGaAsP quantum-wells at room temperature. The central current post and waveguides coupled to single-cell PhC cavity generate single hexapole mode lasing action by suppressing quadrupole modes
