Electroanalytical Approach for Quantification of Pesticide Maneb

Abstract: For the first time, in this study electrochemical oxidation behavior of pesticide maneb is evaluated. Due to the structure electroanalytical quantification of maneb has not been exploited enough. Maneb electrochemical behavior was investigated using glassy carbon (GC), graphene modified glassy carbon (GR/GC) and boron doped diamond (BDD) electrodes. It is shown that only BDD shows satisfactory results toward maneb detection. Based on this, a simple, sensitive and selective electroanalytical method for determin… Show more

“…In recent years, electrochemical sensors have been widely used in pesticide analysis [25–26] because fast, selective and sensitive nanosensors are constantly being developed [27–28] . On the other hand, electrochemical or voltammetric methods have many advantages in the field of practical trace analysis compared to optical or chromatographic methods such as simplicity, cheapness, precision and speed, and are suitable for on‐site monitoring of environmental pollutants [29–34] …”

“…[27][28] On the other hand, electrochemical or voltammetric methods have many advantages in the field of practical trace analysis compared to optical or chromatographic methods such as simplicity, cheapness, precision and speed, and are suitable for on-site monitoring of environmental pollutants. [29][30][31][32][33][34] In the literature, determination of binapacryl has been commonly reported by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC/MS), [6] high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), [7,35] spectrophotometry, [36] liquid chromatography (LC) [37] and solidphase microextraction gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (SPME/GC/MS). [38] These methods require relatively expensive costs, long pre-processes, science expertise, using too much solvent and, long analysis time.…”

“…[1] proved that polydatin has a positive effect in the treatment of diabetes in rats. In addition, the advantages of the electrode are: low value of residual current, minimal noise (high signal/noise ratio), stability in acid and base media, chemical and mechanical stability, as well as as minimal absorption of substances on electrode surface due to presence of sp3 hybridized diamond carbon atom [2][3][4].…”
