Electrocaloric Effect in Sn‐ and Y‐Codoped BaTiO3 Ceramics

Abstract: BaSnxTi1–xO3 + 0.5 mol% Y ceramics (x = 0.06, 0.08, 0.11, and 0.13) are synthesized using citrate combustion technique and the electrocaloric effect (ECE) is investigated. Dense microstructures with fine grain are observed as increasing Sn contents. The dielectric results reveal that TO–T (tetragonal‐to‐orthorhombic phase) shifts toward higher temperature, whereas TC (cubic‐to‐tetragonal phase) shifts toward lower temperature as increasing Sn, and TO–T merges with TC at x = 0.11. An improving EC temperature ch… Show more

“…Lots of methods have been adopted to improve the energy storage properties, such as ions doping, [ 11–15 ] optimizing process, [ 16–18 ] and the introduction of liner additive. [ 19–22 ] Very recently, different liner additives have been introduced to form solid solutions. Such as BaTiO 3 ‐based ceramics modified by Bi(Mg 1/2 Zr 1/2 )O 3 show optimal W re of 1.25 J cm −3 and η of >95%.…”
