Electrochemical Sensing Platforms for HER2‐ECD Breast Cancer Biomarker Detection

Abstract: Screening and early diagnosis are crucial to increase the success of cancer patients’ treatments and improve the survival rate. To contribute to this success, distinct electrochemical immunosensing platforms were developed for the analysis of the ExtraCellular Domain of the Human Epidermal growth factor Receptor 2 (HER2‐ECD) through sandwich assays on nanomaterial‐modified screen‐printed carbon electrodes (SPCEs). The most promising platforms showed to be SPCEs modified with (i) gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) and … Show more

“…Delerue-Matos et al studied screen-printed carbon electrodes (SPCEs)-MWCNTs/Au NPs and SPCE-Au NPs to improve the electrochemical analysis of the extracellular domain of the human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2-ECD) using linear sweep voltammetry [50]. In this analysis, the combination of MWCNT with Au NPs had the highest sensitivity.…”

“…Due to the catalyst of Pt, CuO, and MWCNTs for the decomposition of H 2 O 2 , the Ab2 made multiple amplifications for signals [ 103 ]. Taking advantage of the better coverage of carbon nanomaterial (GNP included) and the larger accessible surface area for antibody immobilization, Freitas et al fabricated an electrochemical-based HER2 sensing platform on screen-printed carbon electrodes with Ab2-MWCNT/GNP for breast cancer detection [ 104 ]. Sardesai et al immobilized biomarkers onto the surface of CNTs which was modified with fluorescent labels and then used to detect IL-6 and PSA by measuring the ECL intensity [ 105 ].…”
