Abstract:We investigate the electron-phonon cooling power in disordered electronic systems with a special focus on mesoscopic superconducting proximity structures. Employing the quasiclassical Keldysh Green's function method, we obtain a general expression for the cooling power perturbative in the electron-phonon coupling, but valid for arbitrary electronic systems out of equilibrium. We apply our theory to several disordered electronic systems valid for an arbitrary relation between the thermal phonon wavelength and t… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
