Abstract:A quantitative theory of electron-phonon interaction in the two-dimensional electron gas in a quantum-sized film with the hyperbolic P¨oschl–Teller confining potential has been developed. Analytical expressions for the transition probability are derived in the case of electron scattering by deformation-induced acoustic, piezoacoustic, and polar optical phonons. The results obtained for various scattering mechanisms in the film are compared with the results obtained for bulk crystals.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
