“…2. Although the retention time consistently decreases with increasing PEG length, an initial increase is observed upon converting the OHPV homopolymer (entry 1) into OHPV-b-(PEG) 12 . In other words, the (apparent) hydrodynamic volume of the BCP is smaller than that of the precursor.…”

“…It is particularly worthwhile reviewing such "inhomogeneous" BCPs since their internally cooperative-or multifunctionality is of strong interest for advanced applications, as smart coatings, [6][7][8][9] drug delivery, [10][11][12][13] bioimaging, [14][15][16] optoelectronics [17][18][19][20] and energy harvesting and storage. [21][22][23][24][25] We subdivide these non-classical BCPs into four "behavioural categories" and conclude with a brief survey of methods to improve the accuracy of molecular weight estimates.…”

“…Side-chain FITC-tagged poly(L-lactide)b-poly(2-(methacryloyloxy)ethyl phosphorylcholine)-st-(methacrylic acid N-hydroxysuccinimide ester) Fl-(PLA-b-P(MPC-st-NHSMA)) (Fl-Poly19, Scheme 5A) was also synthesized through multi-step reactions. 159 In this process, a hydroxyl functionalized dithiocarbonylthio compound was used as initiator as well as a RAFT agent. First, ROP of LA was conducted using this initiator and DMAP catalyst to synthesize PLA-based macro-RAFT for the copolymerization of MPC and NHSMA monomers.…”

“…The L-cysteine functionalization of this copolymer at its NHS moiety followed by the attachment of FITC through the NCS and SH coupling, produced the final fluorescent Fl-Poly19 conjugate. 159 In a recent report, Isely et al 160 employed the coupling reaction of OH groups of PVA with the N C S group of FITC for producing fluorescent Fl-poly(vinyl alcohol) conjugate (Fl-Poly20, Scheme 5A). More recently, Xu et al 161 Scheme 5A) by sequential RAFT polymerization and click reaction.…”
