Electroweak phase transition in a nonminimal supersymmetric model

Abstract: The Higgs potential of the minimal nonminimal supersymmetric standard model (MN-MSSM) is investigated within the context of electroweak phase transition. We investigate the allowed parameter space yielding correct electroweak phase transitoin employing a high temperature approximation. We devote to phenomenological consequences for the Higgs sector of the MNMSSM for electron-positron colliders. It is observed that a future e + e − linear collider with √ s = 1000 GeV will be able to test the model with regard t… Show more

“…The latter can be eliminated in terms of the physical Higgs mass m h , and in this model the Higgs boson is SM-like, so it has to obey the LEP bound m h > 114 GeV. Note that since the potential is stabilized by the H y H 3 term, can be negative, and in this case a barrier in the Higgs potential is present at tree-level, which triggers a first-order electroweak phase transition [9][10][11][12][13]. Here we follow closely the analysis of Ref.…”

“…Several groups have recently taken a more general effective field theory approach to the new physics required in order for EWBG to be viable [9][10][11][12][13]. The minimal possibility is the addition of two dimension-six operators to the Higgs sector, e.g.…”

“…Since we have already noted that the smallness of the leptonic Yukawa couplings make their role in the current SFOPT analysis insignificant, this does not present a significant loss of generality. 7 Recall that in DR scheme, decoupling is accomplished "by hand" through computing threshold corrections after integrating out fields. 8 The issue of neutrino masses in the µνSSM was studied more extensively in Ref.…”

“…[6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13][14], and we will discuss others throughout the remainder of this section. Since our work is most closely related to previous work on SFOPT in the NMSSM, we give here a little preview of some of the differences between our work and select previous works, in addition to the multidimensional aspect stressed above.…”

“…Methods to strengthen the first-order phase transition beyond the SM and MSSM are now widely discussed [13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20,21]. Several of these ideas add a singlet field, such as in the NMSSM or nMSSM.…”
