Element Dispersion by the Wallrock Alteration of Daehyun Gold-silver Deposit

Abstract: The Daehyun gold-silver deposit consists of two hydrothermal quartz veins that fill NE-trending fractures in the Cambro-Ordovician calcitic marble. I have sampled wallrock, hydrothermaly-altered rock and gold-silver ore vein to study the element dispersion and element gain/loss during wallrock alteration. The hydrothermal alteration doesn't remarkably recognized at this deposit and consists of mainly calcite, dolomite, quartz and minor epidote. The ore minerals composed of arsenopyrite, pyrrhotite, pyrite, sph… Show more

“…Calcite originated from calcite vein, being a gangue mineral [50,51]. Albite and muscovite could be regarded as representative rock-forming minerals from the host rock [50,51]. Furthermore, phlogopite, dolomite, and clay minerals (clinochlore, illite, montmorillonite, and vermiculite) were found in all the samples, reported as major hydrothermal alteration minerals [50,51] (Table 2).…”

“…The Chungnam Basin and adjacent area (Fig. 1) have been attracting considerable interest due to the presence of coal fields and mineral deposits (e.g., Chungnam coalfield and Samgwang gold-silver deposit: Chun et al 1987Chun et al , 1990So and Shelton, 1987;So et al, 1988;Yoo et al, 2002Yoo et al, , 2009Yoo et al, , 2010. The Chungnam basin records evidence of two-phase subsidences related to the Late Triassic to Early Jurassic post-collisional (viz., Nampo Group) and the Early to Middle Jurassic intra-arc (viz., Oseosan Volcanic Complex) processes (Choi et al, 1987;Kim and Kim, 1998;Kim and Lee, 2015;Park et al, 2018Park et al, , 2019Lee et al, 2021).…”
