Abstract:This chapter is an overview of the concept of emotional intelligence (EI) and how it applies to organizational leadership. It will explore the origins, viewpoints, and how emotional intelligence differs from intelligence quotient (IQ). It has been demonstrated across the literature that EI has as much, if not more, impact on both personal and professional success.
