Empirical model to predict mass gain of cobalt electroless deposition on ceramic particles using response surface methodology

Abstract: This investigation was undertaken to predict the mass gain (MG) of cobalt electroless deposition (ED) on ceramic SiC particles. Response surface methodology (RSM) based on a full factorial design with three ED parameters and 30 runs was used to conduct the experiments and to establish a mathematical model by means of Design-Expert software. Three ED parameters considered were pH, bath temperature and ceramic particle morphology. Analysis of variance was applied to validate the predicted model. The results of c… Show more

“…Also, electroless plating has been widely used for metal coating on ceramics. [51,52] By carefully tuning the plating time and components, uniform thin layers of metals could be deposited onto ceramic membrane surfaces without blocking the pores. [51] The second approach is depositing CNTs on the surface of ceramic membranes.…”

“…This is due to the fact that AMCs are light and have good specific strength and stiffness. Thus, these new materials can be an appropriate option for replacement of the heavy alloys such as steels [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8] .…”

“…Además, el método de reducción química A metallic surface can be obtained by varying methods such as physical vapor deposition, electrodeposition and electroless methods (Atli et al, 2017;, the latter being a cost-efficient and simple process. In addition, the electroless method has no restrictions regarding the nature or shape of the substrate and allows the autocatalítica no presenta restricción respecto a la naturaleza o forma del sustrato y permite obtener recubrimientos de aleaciones sobre superficies no conductoras, con espesores homogéneos y uniformes (Heidarzadeh, Mousavian, Khosroshahi, Afkham, & Pouraliakbar, 2017;Kobets & Vorobyova, 2016;Haoran Wu, Susanto, & Lian, 2017).…”
