Abstract: The development of endoscopic technologies and the introduction of new surgical concepts during the last decade has led to an evolution of surgical treatment of gastrointestinal disorders including achalasia, gastroesophageal reflux, gastroparesis, inflammatory bowel disease, and tumors of the gastrointestinal tract.
