Energy-Efficient Production Planning Using a Two-Stage Fuzzy Approach

Abstract: Analyzing energy consumption is an important task for a factory. In order to accomplish this task, most studies fit the relationship between energy consumption and product design features, process characteristics, or equipment types. However, the energy-saving effects of product yield learning are rarely considered. To bridge this gap, this study proposes a two-stage fuzzy approach to estimate the energy savings brought about by yield improvement. In the two-stage fuzzy approach, a fuzzy polynomial programming… Show more

“…Green product manufacturing: Analyzing energy consumption is an essential task for a factory [42], and green manufacturing activities form the basis for producing green and environmentally friendly goods [43]. Quality optimization is used to improve the quality characteristics of green products, as a high-quality product means less time wasted on interruptions and restarts in the production process as well as less waste and defective products [44].…”

“…The paper authored by Wu et al [2] studies the energy-saving effects brought by yield improvement in a factory and proposes a two-stage fuzzy approach to estimate the energy savings. The actual case of a dynamic random-access memory factory was used to illustrate that product yield learning can greatly reduce electricity consumption.…”
