Energy-efficient stable routing using QoS monitoring agents in MANET

Abstract: In mobile ad hoc network (MANET), the most important issue is to provide a stable and reliable route for the uninterrupted communication. In order to overcome these issues, in this paper, we propose a stable and energy-efficient routing technique. In the proposed method, quality of service (QoS) monitoring agents collect and calculate the link reliability metrics such as link expiration time (LET), probabilistic link reliable time (PLRT), link packet error rate (LPER) and link received signal strength (LRSS). … Show more

“…In paper [9] the author proposed an energy efficient stable routing in which various link related metrics like "link expiration time (LET), probabilistic reliable time of the link (PLRT), link packet error rate (LPER), link received signal strength (LRSS) and remaining batter power (RBP)" are considered as input parameters. Fuzzy logic is used to calculate the probability for the route selection.…”

“…Therefore, that source nodes later route packets according to its type through suitable path. Similarly [15] uses Ants-based multi-QoS routing algorithm which rank paths using (loss ratio, available memory, queueing delay and remaining energy), Other work [16] apply AI technique for scoring paths, it uses link expiration time, probabilistic link reliable time, link packet error rate, link received signal strength and residual battery power to calculate score of each path using fuzzy logic. While this work [17] uses signal strength, re-maining energy and available memory to score each path, while in [18] uses drain rate and delay for scoring path, other cross layer protocol [19] uses energy level and free buffer space.…”
