The purpose of this research is to analyze the role of organizational culture in fostering green practices in the workplace while investigating the mediating role of intrinsic motivation in the context of energy conservation. Based on a cross-sectional quantitative study with a sample of 203 employees from the manufacturing sector, the hypothesized relationships were verified. Based on the mediation analysis, statistical analyses revealed positive relationships between organizational culture and green workplace practices, as well as organizational culture and intrinsic motivation. Additionally, the study found that intrinsic motivation mediates the relationship between organizational culture and green workplace practices. This study supported the importance of organizational culture in enhancing green workplace practices aimed at conserving energy and natural resources. The underlying mechanism behind the significant positive effect of intrinsic motivation on proenvironmental behavior in the workplace was also identified. The research demonstrates the importance of an organizational culture to reinforce green practices in the workplace. Furthermore, based on the used models, this study illustrates the importance of each organizational culture dimension: leadership, sense of community, communication, collaboration, and structure in promoting green behavior. Additionally, the research suggests a key role of intrinsic motivation in this relationship. This study provides valuable guidance for the implementation of specific environmental measures in companies.

Industrial activities consume a large portion of the total energy demand worldwide and thus significantly contribute to greenhouse gas emissions. One of the most effective ways to reduce energy consumption in the industrial sector is to implement an energy management system. Current research into Industrial Energy Management System (IEnMS) remains insufficient, and to the best of our knowledge, a holistic framework for an IEnMS using the Internet of Things (IoT) and big data does not exist. This paper provides a comprehensive systematic literature review of the existing academic publications on IEnMS from where the main requirements and components of an IEnMS are identified. We further verify this study by conducting a detailed survey with specialized employees of ten (10) large companies to acquire expert opinion about using the modern technologies like IoT, big data, and data analytics in IEnMS. We have then proposed a theoretical framework for the IEnMS using IoT, big data and data analytics to construct an effective cyber-physical system architecture including steps from data acquisition to the end-user decision-making process. These findings demonstrate how the suggested framework provides an objective methodology for selecting the most appropriate IEnMS for various businesses based on their specific needs.INDEX TERMS Energy management systems, big data, IoT.

Modeling the Sustainable Integration of Quality and Energy Management in Power Plants

(1) Background: this paper aimed at modeling the sustainable integration of quality and energy management system (IQEM) via identifying critical success factors (CSFs) and analyzing the effect on energy management; (2) Methods: The research adopted theoretical and practical methods, through carefully examining the literature to extract the research gap and CSFs that establish a sustainable model for the integration of quality and energy management, while the practical method was energy experts’ arbitration and to develop a sustainable model in power plants. The study used SmartPLS and SPSS software for analysis purposes, collected data using a 5-point Likert scale and employed a cross-sectional approach survey questionnaire; (3) Results: The research succeeded in identifying the most important CSFs necessary for the sustainable integration of (IQEM). This investigation discovered that the identified CSFs are significantly related to the electricity sector’s energy management integration success (EMIS). The study’s results showed that the identified IQEM’s CSFs, such as EP with p-values (0.000), SQI (0.000), EMT (0.019), A (0.003), SP (0.010), are significantly associated with EMIS and improve quality and energy management; (4) Conclusions: This study succeeded in modeling a framework that ensures integrated and sustainable success between energy management and quality in developing countries power plants.
