Energy-to-Peak State Estimation With Intermittent Measurement Outliers: The Single-Output Case

Abstract: This paper is concerned with the energy-to-peak state estimation problem for a class of linear discrete-time systems with energy-bounded noises and intermittent measurement outliers (IMOs). In order to capture the intermittent nature, two sequences of step functions are introduced to model the occurrence of the IMOs. Furthermore, two special indices (i.e. minimum and maximum interval lengths) are adopted to describe the "occurrence frequency" of IMOs. Different from the considered energy-bounded noises, the ou… Show more

“…Disturbance and uncertainty are ubiquitous in control systems, and control of systems in the presence of uncertainty/disturbance is a central problem [1]- [7]. A variety of effective methods are proposed ranging from robust control [8], adaptive control [8]- [11], disturbance-observer-based control [2], [5], [12], active disturbance reject control [3], [4], etc. The literature on these topics are rich, and see the references and therein [2]- [5], [8]- [11].…”

“…Remark 1: Different from traditional fault detection problems, the online pipeline leakage detection can be treated as an outlier detection problem [41], [61]. Note that most online detection models tend to fail in identifying incipient faults due to insufficient real-world pipeline data.…”
