Engineering Escherichia coli for efficient aerobic conversion of glucose to fumaric acid

Abstract: Highlights E. coli was engineered to produce fumaric acid from glucose under aerobic conditions. Fermentation-deficient strain with modified glucose transport was used as a chassis.
