Abstract:The anaerobic digested sludge was irradiated using gamma ray to enrich the hydrogen‐producing microorganisms, and the irradiated sludge was immobilize in polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) gels for enhanced fermentative hydrogen production. The experimental results showed that the cumulative hydrogen production of 144 mL H2/100 mL day−1 and hydrogen yield of 1.77 mol H2/mol glucose was obtained at 35°C and initial pH 9 by immobilized sludge. The immobilized sludge remained active after 10 repeated batch operations, which… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
