Enhanced Optical and Electrical Interactions at the Pt/MgSe Interfaces Designed for 6G Communication Technology

Abstract: Magnesium selenide thin films are coated onto glass and semitransparent Pt substrates (nanosheets) by the vacuum evaporation technique under a vacuum pressure of 10 −5 mbar. The effect of Pt nanosheets of thicknesses of 100 nm on the structural, compositional, optical, and electrical properties of MgSe is explored. It is found that platinum nanosheets enhance the light absorbability in the visible and infrared ranges of light. They slightly redshift the energy bandgap and decrease the dielectric constant. The … Show more

“…It is also evident from the inset shown in Figure 2c that the α values of SnO 2 films have increased when deposited onto niobium pentoxide films. The enhancement in the light absorption percentage (R λ %) in the SnO 2 films is calculated from the relation, [20]…”

The enhancement in the light absorption percentage (Rλ%$R_{\lambda} \%$) in the SnO 2 films is calculated from the relation, [ 20 ] Rλ%=αNSOαSnO2αSnO2×100$$R_{\lambda} \% = \frac{\left(\alpha\right)_{\text{NSO}} - \left(\alpha\right)_{\text{SnO} 2}}{\left(\alpha\right)_{\text{SnO} 2}} .100$$…”

“…This concept within a study, was achieved a hysteresis-free transition behavior at a subthreshold swing (SS) as small as 9.7 mV without a DE layer attached to the structure's FE layer (Song et al, 2022). In another study, the researchers explored Pt nanosheets' effects on MgSe thin films, revealing enhancements in light absorbability, energy band red-shift, and decreased dielectric constants, while sandwiching MgSe between Pt layers enabled the creation of tunneling-type diodes with negative capacitance properties, indicating potential applications in parasitic capacitance mitigation, noise reduction, and microwave resonance (Algarni et al, 2022).…”
