Enhanced Robustness and Spoofing Resistance by Galileo PRS Processing

Abstract: This paper presents and discusses some of the enhancements in robustness against jamming and spoofing using unique features of the cryptographically protected Galileo PRS signals. Different techniques exploiting these PRS properties have been implemented and evaluated on the German national PRS test receiver (PROOF). It is shown that the used HDDM interference mitigation method is already as good as the stateof-the-art in high-end GNSS receivers for OS signals. Then the benefits of cryptographically protected … Show more

“…The exploring PRS low-end receivers (EXPLOR-ERS) program (Turner et al, 2015) is a spreading code authentication proposed for Galileo open service via spreading code of Galileo PRS. It is a communicationassisted authentication system, including two services, called PRS/Open Service Positioning and Authentication (PROSPA) (Turner et al, 2013) and National Space Technology Program (NSTP) Aspire project (ASPIRE) (Rugamer et al, 2016(Rugamer et al, , 2020Turner et al, 2015). The PROSPA sends Galileo PRS spreading code segments to the receiver.…”
