We report on electrodeposition of thin Mn-oxide films on Carbon Nanosheets (CNS) and explore the potential of this high-surface area Mn-oxide/nanocarbon for applications in fast charge/discharge thin-film lithium ion micro-batteries. We examined physical-chemical properties of Mn-oxide/CNS composite films electrodeposited on both flat substrates and high-aspect-ratio Si pillars coated with TiN and CNS. In addition to electrochemical methods, such as cyclic voltammetry (CV), Mn-oxide/CNS structures were characterized using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and Raman spectroscopy (RS).
