Abstract:The emergence and spread of methicillin‐resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is a major cause of bacterial infections in healthcare. Lysostaphin, a Zn2+‐dependent endopeptidase, hydrolyzes the glycine (G)‐linked pentapeptide bridge in the pathogen Staphylococcus aureus.
